The risk of mould formation is particularly low in new buildings due to good insulation and high component temperatures, isn’t it?

Even in case of careful execution of the construction work, small thermal bridges and cold corners cannot be avoided. The indoor air in buildings without a ventilation system is particularly humid due to the increased air tightness of buildings. The moisture condenses on the few colder areas and can lead to mould formation which is partly undetectable.

The German Allergy and Asthma Association (DAAB) in the special edition of the health magazine “Allergie konkret 3/98 already revealed “that in highly heat-insulated low-energy houses analogous to the new Heat Insulation Ordinance mites and mould levels are increased since the associated poor air exchange rate below 0.1/hour obviously lead to a change in the microclimate in the interior towards optimum biotope conditions for microorganisms.
