Is the supply air ionised in the ducts and what consequences does this entail?

airflow, which conducts from outside
close

The ionisation of the air can, in relation to the air velocity common in ventilation technology, be neglected. In addition to that, the air carries a relatively low amount of ionised dust particles due to the filtering of the outside air.

Whether an ionisation is to be considered positive or negative in terms of health is controversial. Should the slight ionisation cause an increased deposition of dust in the duct, this is only positive in the end, because this would mean an additional filter effect. The deposited dry dust is completely harmless in terms of hygiene and can be cleared and removed every 5-10 years using a pneumatic hose.
