Is it possible to install a fireplace dependant on indoor air (such as tiled stove or open fireplace) in a building with controlled ventilation?

Basically yes, if a sufficient combustion air supply is ensured, for example, due to a separated air line. Since a potential failure of the supply air fan can cause a negative pressure within the building, there may be exhaust gas emissions.

Information on how to prevent this can be found on our homepage in the chapter “planning or in our technical manual in chapter 9. As the legal position isn’t yet entirely clear, the chimney sweep should be consulted in time.
