Do the ventilation systems cause noise?
The ventilation system is usually installed in a secondary room (cellar, utility room) in a sound-decoupled manner. If the system is supposed to be placed on a wooden ceiling or in a room with special requirements with regard to sound insulation, special measures must be considered.
The airborne sound of both fans is reduced to a minimum (less than 30 dBA) thanks to two internal silencers (in the supply air and the exhaust air) in connection with the Pluggit duct system. Since the ducts also have a sound insulating effect, a minimum duct length of about 5 metres between the distributor and the outlet must be kept.
As a general rule: the more generous the system is planned, the more quiet it will be. In case of doubt a bigger ventilation system, a larger duct cross-section and a higher number of air outlets respectively exhaust air inlets should hence rather be chosen.
