Can the range hood be connected to the ventilation system?

To prevent the heat recovery system (heat exchanger) from pollution (grease), the range hood should, despite the filter, not be connected to the ventilation system with heat recovery.

Explanation: Customary range hoods are equipped with a fan with V = 300m³/h to 600m³/h. Due to the resulting air velocity the grease filter or other filters are only little effective – the heat exchanger won’t have the same high efficiency due to grease depositions – more frequent cleaning would be required. Since the supply air usually is already preheated to approximately 18 °C in the heat exchanger, the additional waste heat can hardly be used.

Solution: range hood in recirculating air mode
